There once was a young bird who hated flying south for the winter. All the other birds flew there so he was forced to as well, but he didn't understand why. So one year the bird decided that when the rest of his flock flew south, he wouldn't be joining them. The little bird waited and waited... until finally it grew colder. Another week passed, and another. Finally the bird couldn't take it anymore.
Realizing the error of his ways, he took off south as fast as his little wings could carry him. He flew all day, until his frail young body was simply too exhausted. The next morning, he continued his journey south in a hurried manner. Today, however, the bird was in for a surprise.
All of the sudden a white cold fell upon the bird. The bird didn't know it, but he was in for a terrible surprise. He continued on as fast as possible, but to no avail. The bird was eventually enveloped in ice. He fell to the ground, assuming he would surely die. But amazingly the think powder from the blizzard had broken his fall. And so he lie there frozen in the snow... waiting to die.
Yet, all of the sudden, a cow happens by. And just as the little bird got a full view of utter a steaming pile falls on him, putting him neck deep in shit. The bird thought to himself, " This is just perfect for the last day of my life..."
However, what the bird didn't realize was that slowly the ice was melting. The little birds heart rate began to rise, and things looked hopeful once more. And as the remaining ice melted off his little beak he was happier than he'd ever been in his life to be sitting neck deep in cow pie. He began to chirp and sing with joy!
Nearby, however, a farm cat heard the gleeful chirping of the young bird and began to follow the calls. The cat approaches the bird and rips him out of the cow pie and batting him around in the snow to clean him off; just before devouring the poor young bird...

The moral of the story is that not everyone who shits on you is your enemy, and not everyone who gets you out of shit is your friend...
